American Illustration selected an illustration we did for The Sex Instruction Manual entitled The No-Tell Motel for inclusion in this year’s annual book, AI 28.
Paul was invited to be a judge for this year’s upcoming Communication Arts Design Annual. Communication Arts is one of the most respected competitions in the industry—Paul was extremely honored to be asked to participate.
A series of illustrations we did for GQ magazine called Treat Her Right were chosen for this year’s Communication Arts Illustration Annual.
Lurzer’s Archive 200 Best Illustrators Worldwide selected 17 illustrations of ours for this years annual (09/10). The winning illustrations include pieces we did for The Bride’s Instruction Manual, The Sex Instruction Manual, Fortune Small Business, Wine Spectator, Kiwi Magazine, Newsweek, and The Boston Globe.
Communication Arts chose The Baby Owner’s Manual for their “Best Design of the Past 50 Years” timeline to represent 2003. You can check it out in June’s issue on page 84.
6 of our pieces were chosen for AIGA’s Philadelphia Design Awards. The winning pieces are The Sopranos: The Complete Book, The Bride’s Instruction Manual, The Groom’s Instruction Manual, an illustration we did for Newsweek called Global Inflation, Deadwood: Stories of the Black Hills, and Avenue Q: The Book. An exhibition of the show will be up from May 1–30.
We designed 3 gatefold inserts for Time magazine’s special Most Influential People issue, on newsstands now. We collaborated with D. W. Pine and Lon Tweeten at Time for the extremely elaborate map gatefold.
Two of our books won first and second place at the New York Book Show this year. Books are judged on design, production, and manufacturing.
We just finished an eight-foot-by-eight-foot mural for the new Tampa Bay History Center’s children’s museum, which opens to the public on January 3rd.
Paul was interviewed by Xfuns, the bi-lingual creative culture and design magazine from Taiwan. You can check out the article on Headcase Design in this month’s issue (#39). The magazine runs its text in both English and Mandarin.
We did the illustration for an animated commercial for Nickelodeon’s “Playful Parent.” You can view the TV spot here.
Paul will be giving a presentation about Headcase Design in Oklahoma on November 20 at 7 pm, sponsored by AIGA Oklahoma.
We designed Eminem’s book The Way I Am, which reached #11 on the New York Times bestseller list today. The book is the first part of a campaign to launch Eminem back into the public’s eye, to be closely followed by his new album early next year.

For Boys Only, which we designed and illustrated, will be featured in Print’s Regional Design Annual.

Jessica Seinfeld’s cookbook Deceptively Delicious, which we designed, will be #1 on the New York Times Advice/How-to bestseller list.
Jessica Seinfeld and her Headcase-designed cookbook Deceptively Delicious will be featured for a full hour on Oprah. The set was decorated to match the design of the book cover, and Oprah herself will be dressed in pink to match the book’s color palette! Tune in Monday, October 8th to catch it.
Dirty Blonde: The Diaries of Courtney Love, will be featured in Graphis Design Annual 2008.
An illustration we did for The Home Owner's Manual, will be published in American Illustration 2007. The Home Owner’s Manual will also be featured in AIGA’s 50 Books/50 Covers 2007.
“Heart of Darkness”, an illustration we did for The New Republic, will be featured in Communication Arts Illustration Annual (July 2007).

The poster we designed for The Hurricane Poster Project was one of the thirty chosen to be exhibited at the Old State Capitol in Baton Rouge. Opening reception to be held in the Senate chamber from 5:30 to 8:00 on the evening of August 29th.

As part of the AIGA Philly’s ongoing "New to You" series, we will be giving a lecture at the Charter High School for Architecture and Design (CHAD) on Tuesday, June 13th at 7:00pm. This lecture is open to the public.
We will be giving a lecture at the Tyler School of Art on Friday, February 24th at 2:30 in President’s Hall.
We’ve created a poster for The Hurricane Poster Project—a collaborative effort of the design community to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. All proceeds from poster sales will go directly to the Red Cross. You can view our poster here or download a PDF. The posters will be available from their site very soon.
